GO VIPERS!
The Vipers are excited to move from Annandale to Burke Athletic Club. We hope to honor BAC with our team of girls and look forward to the Spring season as members of Burke Athletic Club.
The Vipers are a U13 girls travel soccer team mostly based out of the Braddock District. We are a grass roots team largely consisting of former Braddock Rd. All-Star players, among others, who formed in the summer of 2010 after placing as Finalists at both the 2009 HYS All-Stars Tournament and FPYC’s 2010 Father’s Day Tournament. The Viper’s have since played three seasons of ODSL travel soccer, and have earned the privilege of moving up through the division structure. This past season the Vipers placed 2nd in DIV 2 ODSL. The Vipers have continued to play well at the travel soccer level, placing as Finalists at both NVSC’s Battlefield Tournament, NVSC’s Fall Classic tournament, third at FPYC’s Liberty Cup Tournament and 2nd place at Fairfax Sportsplex’s U12G Select Soccer division (session 2 - winter travel league).
Our philosophy is based on team and player development while having fun. The team’s head coach is Octavio (Coach O.) Alfaro, who holds USAF E Class, F Class, and D Class licenses and has 10 seasons of coaching experience. The team’s assistant coach is Coach Mark Cashion who played varsity soccer for 4 years in highschool and one season at Virginia Tech. He also has over two years of coaching experience. The Vipers use multiple highly recommended and accredited team trainers and foot skills trainers before and during the regular season. We typically hold 2 to 3 practices a week in the Spring/Fall seasons and play indoor travel soccer in the winter. Our practices are within the Burke/Annandale/Springfield areas.
The Vipers are a down to earth, friendly, welcoming group of ambitious players. We are excited to move into WAGS for our Spring 2012 season.
