TOPSoccer opens up the game of soccer to boys and girls, age 5-19, who have a mental or physical disability. BAC’s goal is to enable young athletes with disabilities to become valued and successful member of the BAC soccer family. BAC’s TOPSoccer program is staffed by volunteers, under the direct supervision of volunteer special needs professionals and experienced BAC soccer coaches. Each athlete receives a BAC set of uniforms and a soccer ball. This program is unique in that each program is created around the needs of the individual player. Each TOPSoccer athlete is teamed, one-on-one, with a BAC house or BAC travel player to help the TOPSoccer player discover and increase his/her soccer experience.
Athletes with Down syndrome are required to have a current x-ray for the purpose of establishing the absence of atlantoaxial instability. Placement is made based on ability, not age.
