PCA Courses

Creating a positive environment for the children that play sports with Burke AC is very important. For that reason, the club has made it mandatory that all coaches become PCA certified. New coaches will have until after their first season coaching to meet this requirement. The Club is hosting two free PCA courses.

Double Goal Coach 1 Workshop - March 21, 2012 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Fairview Elementary School. The title of the workshop is "Coaching for Winning and Life Lessons". This interactive workshop begins by defining the Double-Goal Coach™ as one who strives to win and works to prepare his/her team to play at its highest level, and, at the same time, teaches life lessons (teamwork, dedication, bouncing back from mistakes, etc.) to his/her players

Double Goal Coach 2 Workshop - May 2, 2012 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. at Fairview Elementary School. The title of the workshop is “Culture, Practices and Games”. This dynamic workshop gives coaches of all sports practical tools to both win and develop the character of young athletes.

Coaches Training Courses

BAC will be offering the E and F License courses. If you are new to coaching or experienced and working with younger age groups, these courses are a result of many years of collaboration with educators and renowned coaches from US Youth Soccer. It is an outstanding foundation for coaching that all coaches should have.

Coaches Guidebook

To help our coaches, Burke AC has developed a House Coaches Guidebook. This book does not deal with things like what drills to run. Rather, it helps introduce coaches to the rules here at the Club and the way that things work here. It looks at things like setting up fields and which sideline to use. We try to be comprehensive but we will always miss something. Let us know if you have something you would like us to add.
