CONGRATULATIONS TO THE U11 FREEDOM - FINALISTS IN THE BULL RUN TOURNAMENT

Congratulations to Burke AC Blue Thunder (U-11 Boys) -- 2009 Virginian Champions!

Thunder scored 19 goals and conceded just 4 in the five matches leading to the U-11 Virginian title over Memorial Day weekend. In the championship match, Thunder came from a goal down to win a thrilling contest, 2-1 over Alexandria Arsenal White. Gianfranco Rodriguez and Andres Villarreal netted for Thunder, with Villarreal’s goal coming on a looping header with 14 minutes to play. Thunder played solid defense throughout the tournament, and didn’t allow more than a single goal to any opponent.

Team members (L to R): Neil Finnegan, Andres Villarreal, Gianfranco Rodriguez, Cameron Lane, Jake Hartup, Ben Bilbro, Coach Grant Hartup, Blake Lawrence, Brandon Metzler, J.W. Clark, Reid Cunningham, Andrew Schiffer, Jason Soma and Connor Dougherty.
